Lake macbride is my favorite state park in Iowa. It is so beautiful and has so many unique places- there is a raptor center, bird observation area, spillway, hiking trails, biking trails, boat rentals, beach, camp sites.. what can you not find there?? Definitely a place you should see in Eastern Iowa
Not really that scenic. Iowa is pretty flat. If you like boating I can see why this would be a fun area. Otherwise want that impressed. To find the spillway or waterfall. When u get to the last parking lot, there are no signs or hiking trails. It located on the bank with all the rocks. Hike to the end of it 0.5 mile and it is there hidden .
This is a great Primitive campground. We have spent many great weekends roughing it here, however it does have a modern toilet facility as well as a Hole in the ground. Small boats are allowed here, and many campers take their canoes and kayaks here. I suggest you reserve a spot well in advance online to ensure you get a spot. The only thing lacking at this park is a Beach.
Love this place. Very nice trails. I go every year
Good place to take the family fishing. I like to come here a lot during ice fishing season when you find a school of crappie its non stop fun
